In this section you will find information about the various services operated by the Adopted Peoples Association. All of the APA's services are provided free of charge.

Irish Adoption Contact Register

The Irish Adoption Contact Register was launched by the APA in May 1999. It is a free, voluntary, mutual consent reunion registry where you can register your details in the hope that someone is searching for you or search the Register to see if someone is waiting to be found by you. The Register is extremely successful and attracts over 1,000 new registrations every year. Click on the link at left to register or search now!

Tracing Information

If you want to a find natural relative or a now adult person placed for adoption, rather than waiting on adoption agency, click on the link at left to find out how! We currently provide guides for: Irish adopted people; natural parents; those subject to illegal or de facto adoptions; tracing siblings placed for adoption; and Irish-born people adopted in the UK. Coming soon: Irish-born people adopted in the United States.

It is a sad fact that the majority of people who contact us have been treated badly by an adoption agency. If this is your experience also, click on the link at left to do something about it!

Public Meetings

The APA run several public meetings a year for adopted people and their natural families. Click on the link at left for information on previous meetings and to find out when the next one is being held.
